What is credit intermediation and what cautions should you adopt in your business in Portugal?
Credit intermediation is the mediation between a consumer and an entity that grants credit (for instance, a bank).
In businesses of sale of goods, to promote sales, it may happen that a company promotes or facilitates contacts with its customers so that they can finance themselves and purchase the goods that the company wants to sell.
This practice may imply, in certain circumstances, the obligation to obtain authorization for credit intermediation from Banco de Portugal.
