Decree-Law No. 139/2025 was published today, updating the guaranteed minimum monthly remuneration (national minimum wage) to €920.00. This increase shall take effect as of January 1, 2026.
The new figure represents a €50.00 increase compared to the rate in force throughout 2025 and reflects the provisions of the Three-party Agreement for Wage Appreciation and Economic Growth 2025-2028 (executed on October 1, 2024). Within the framework of a trajectory of successive annual increases, the national minimum wage is projected to reach €970.00 in 2027 and €1,020.00 in 2028.
Pursuant to the statute, this new value is applicable only to Continental Portugal, given that the Autonomous Regions of Madeira and the Azores establish distinct minimum wage values for their respective archipelagos.
