Start of the 2026 Fiscal Year: Main Challenges and Obligations

The beginning of 2026 marks the start of a new fiscal year under the 2026 State Budget, bringing with it tax adjustments and new budgetary priorities that impact companies and individual taxpayers. This moment is particularly relevant for financial planning and timely compliance with legal obligations, in a context of transition between fiscal years.

For companies, the focus is currently on closing the accounts for 2025, an essential process that involves calculating results, preparing financial statements and complying with associated tax obligations. Rigorous management of this phase is crucial to ensure tax compliance and efficiency, avoiding future contingencies.
At the same time, individual taxpayers should start preparing for the next income tax campaign. The submission of the Model 3 declaration will take place, as usual, between 1 April and 30 June 2026, and it is essential to ensure that all information relating to household income, deductions and expenses is correctly recorded and validated. We would like to emphasise that early preparation contributes to a simpler and more efficient process.

The start of the 2026 tax year therefore represents a strategic period of organisation and planning, which is essential for companies and citizens to comply with their tax obligations and manage their finances responsibly
